These terms and conditions are applicable to the website and to orders and sale transactions for products available at the online shop («Products» or «Furniture»).
By accessing this website and/or by placing an order through the online shop you agree to be bound by and accept the terms and conditions set out below. If you do not agree to be bound by these conditions you may not use or access this website.
With regard to your purchases on the online shop we will communicate electronically by sending email or posting electronically. You agree that all agreements, notices, disclosures and other communications provided electronically satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing.

Trademarks and copyright
International copyright and trademark laws protect all product designs, product names and content included on our website. LK Hjelle Møbelfabrikk AS grants you a limited licence to access and make personal use of our website and not to download, except where specifically invited, nor to duplicate, sell or modify, any portion of our website without express written authorisation from us.
All our furniture is made and produced at our own factory in Sykkylven, Norway.
Please note that all our upholstered products are custom made. None of our products are held in stock, but all furniture is specially made for the particular customer after an order has been placed.
This affects both our delivery time and the rights of withdrawal.
We try to display the colours on the products and fabrics at our website as accurately as possible. But colours shown on a picture will always differ somehow from reality. We cannot guarantee for different computer monitor’s display of colours etc.
By placing an order, you warrant that the personal information that you are required to provide when you register as a customer is true, accurate, current and complete in all respects. You will notify us immediately of any changes to the personal information by contacting us by e-mail, or calling us on +47 70 25 44 00. You agree not to impersonate any other person or entity or to use a false name or a name that you are not authorized to use.
To be able to order products you have to:
> Provide your full name and address, phone number, email address, payment details and other required information
> Be at least 18 years of age
> Provide a valid delivery address in one of the territories stated under «Shipping and delivery information» (note that HJELLE is unable to deliver to certain addresses, including but not limited to, P.O. Box addresses)
> Be the owner or authorized holder of a valid debit/credit card, or holder of an account at a certified e-commerce payment service providers such as PayPal
> State the specific products that you wish to purchase
Please note: When you create an account at the online shop on www.hjelle.no you will also create a personal user identification (your username) and password. Keep your password protected at all times and do not disclose it to anyone else as you are personally responsible for each purchase made using your user identification and password.
You place orders by following the instructions set out in the online shop.
The technical steps required to create the contract between you and us are as follows:
> You place the order for your products on the website by pressing the confirm order button at the end of the check-out process. You will be guided through the process of placing an order by a series of simple instructions on the website.
> We will send to you an order acknowledgement email detailing the products you have ordered. Within 3 days you will receive an order confirmation that state the time of delivery.
> When your order is shipped from our factory we will send you a dispatch confirmation e-mail.
Order acceptance and the completion of the contract between you and us will take place on the dispatch to you of the products ordered unless we have notified you that we do not accept your order or you have cancelled it in accordance with our conditions set out below.
HJELLE reserves the right to refuse your order for any legitimate reason. Non-acceptance of an order may take place in the following circumstances:
> Elementary parts or components of the product, such as the fabric, are no longer available from our supplier.
> Our inability to obtain authorisation for your payment.
> The identification of a pricing or product description error.
> You not meeting the eligibility to order criteria set out in the main the conditions of use.
If the order is accepted, we will send you an acknowledgement e-mail. Within 3 days we will send you a confirmation («HJELLE order confirmation») with order number, details of the items you have ordered and expected delivery time. Acceptance of your order and the formation of the contract between HJELLE and you will not take place unless and until you have received your HJELLE order confirmation. Before we have sent you this order confirmation, you may cancel your order at any stage by contacting HJELLE customer service at firstname.lastname@example.org
You may cancel an order within 24 hours from the time that your original order was placed. Please send an e-mail to email@example.com notifying us that you would like to have an order cancelled. Please make sure to supply us with detailed information (i.e. your name, your order number, etc.). You will be sent a confirmation message stating that we have cancelled the order.
Shipping and delivery information
The online shop only delivers products within Norway. The online shop does not deliver products outside of this territory currently.
Our delivery charge varies from country to country; it is based on a percentage of the total sale. All orders will be shipped to the shipping address stated in the HJELLE order confirmation. Since all our upholstered furniture is custom made the production time affects the delivery time.
We aim to dispatch the order within 6 weeks and you should receive your goods within 3 to 10 days after the order has been shipped from our factory in Norway, depending on your shipping address.
Your shipping price will appear in your basket after you have entered your shipping address. Time of delivery will be stated at the order confirmation that you will receive by e-mail within 3 days after ordering.
You must notify us of any damages within two days of receipt of delivery. Any items not received must be advised within 14 days of the dispatch confirmation e-mail in order that this can be investigated. Someone must be available to sign for the goods during normal working hours and this person should be known to you. We will not be responsible where the person signing for the goods is not the person who has placed the order/paid for the goods or if incorrect address details have been supplied.
Delivery will take place during normal business hours Monday to Friday. Delivery to a work address can also be arranged but this must be specified at the time of order and be signed for by the purchaser.
Incomplete or incorrect delivery
If you are missing one or more items, or have received a wrong item in relation to the HJELLE order confirmation you received upon ordering, you must contact us as soon as possible by email to customer service at firstname.lastname@example.org. The email must contain the order number as well as a statement of which item that is missing or incorrectly delivered. We will investigate and complete the order at no extra cost to you.
HJELLE is responsible for the products while they are being shipped. Upon delivery you must check all the items for any damages. Damaged or missing items (i.e. not enclosed within the delivery) must be notified to us within 2 days of receipt by e-mail at email@example.com. Please make sure to take a picture of the damage box and packaging, and enclose this picture in the email.
All original packaging must be kept for inspection. If a box looks damaged do not sign for the goods without checking the product. If the product is damaged you may refuse to accept it. If you haven’t had the opportunity to check the goods please write clearly on the slip that the goods have not been checked.
If any item has been damaged in transit, please fill out the claim form that you receive from the delivery personnel that delivered the products to you.
If on opening the package the goods are damaged, please phone us immediately on +47 70 25 44 00. Please take a picture of the damaged item and send us an e-mail with the photo attached to customer service at on firstname.lastname@example.org with the order number as per your HJELLE order confirmation.
We will seek compensation from the carrier and complete the delivery at no extra cost to you. Legislation states that this must be done «within reasonable time» which is normally interpreted that you should contact us within 10 days after you have received the delivery of the damaged product.
Goods rarely arrive damaged but speedy action helps all parties to sort the problem out without delay. We will respond and advise what course of action must be taken in these circumstances.
HJELLE is not responsible for delay or failure to perform if the delay or failure is caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control including but not limited to acts of war or terror, strikes, national or local states of emergency, failure of transportation facilities, power or utility outages, earthquakes, or other natural disasters.
Prices are stated in NOK and are inclusive VAT at the current rates and are correct at the time of entering the information onto the system.
HJELLE will have to charge sales tax where required by law. If you are ordering from territories where sales tax is charged, appropriate charges will be added and displayed in your HJELLE order confirmation.
The total cost of your order is the price of the products ordered plus delivery charges as set out in shipping information.
HJELLE offers free handling on orders. There are no administrative charges or charges for the use of credit/debit card or e-commerce payment in the purchase.
Payment must be done by credit/debit cards or through certified e-commerce payment service providers such as PayPal. If you pay by credit/debit cards you must supply your payment card details when you place your order. All credit and debit card purchases are subject to validation and credit checks. Note that your credit card may not be accepted if (1) the name on the credit card does not match the billing name given, or (2) the billing address given does not match the bank records.
Your payment card will be charged when you place your order. The amount will be reserved for 24 hours, and then charged if we haven’t received a cancellation of your order.
HJELLE will not ship the items to you until your card issuer has authorized the use of your card for payment of the ordered products. As your HJELLE order confirmation is your proof of purchase, we recommend that you save and print that document for your potential future use.
All items remain the property of HJELLE until paid for in full.
HJELLE products are guaranteed against all manufacturing or material defects («Defect») for the warranty period as defined and set out according to your domestic legal definition. HJELLE products are fully warranted to the original purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship.
If a product fails due to a manufacturing or material defect, we will replace or repair it without charge, at our option. This warranty does not include product failures resulting from accidents, misuse, improper care, or normal wear and tear. Please note that fading of the natural materials and the garment is normal and may occur over extended periods of time due to the colour, design and individuality of all HJELLE products.
If you want to make a claim under the warranty, contact us at email@example.com with your name, address, phone number, e-mail address, the original order number as per your HJELLE order confirmation, photos of the product defect and a description of the product defect.
Right of withdrawal
According to Norwegian regulations, customers making purchases from online stores are entitled to return the goods without stating a reason by sending back the goods or a written withdrawal within 14 calendar days counted from the day after you received delivery. This excludes products considered special orders, meaning they have been ordered for a particular customer and are not held in stock.
Please note that all our upholstered products are custom made. None of the HJELLE products are held in stock, but all furniture is specially made for the particular customer after an order has been placed.
Therefore, these orders do not have a 14-day returns option. It is up to the customer to ensure that they are satisfied with the product specification before ordering.
In case of withdrawal the benefits received for both parties are to be returned. A withdrawal is only possible if the products are still in the same state as when received. If the goods have been used the right of withdrawal is no longer valid. This does not apply if the goods were only tested and checked for damages, or tried out in the same manner as would have happened in a store when considering a purchase.
Returns should be made in the original, undamaged packaging. We recommend returning the goods by registered/insured post as we will not be liable for any loss or damage incurred whilst returns are held by third parties. Refunds will be made once the items are received by HJELLE and a confirmation e-mail will be sent advising the refund amount.
HJELLE reserve the right to withhold a percentage of the refund value of returned goods if the product or packaging is in such a condition that the item needs to be reduced in price for resale. We will only refund the card from which the original payment was made. Please note that it usually takes 48 hours to appear on your card statement. Please also note that in rare cases it can take up to 14 days.
Please note that refunds cannot be given on unwanted bespoke items i.e. upholstery and custom made products, so-called special order items.
